L'aromathérapie au service de la femme

Aromatherapy for women

In this article, discover Essential and Vegetable Oils serving feminine inconveniences but also serving feminine beauty. Whether you are a super mom, a businesswoman or a fulfilled retiree, it is difficult to escape these typically feminine problems. For this and much more, Essential and Vegetable Oils are formidable natural allies.

A woman's best friend: Evening Primrose Vegetable Oil

Vegetable Oil at the service of women! It is ideal for maintaining the health and beauty of the skin (flexibility and elasticity) thanks to its unsaturated fatty acids. It helps regulate the production of hormones such as estrogen or progesterone. This Vegetable Oil is in fact recognized for its estrogen-like action, in the sense that it provides the same effects as natural estrogens without having the side effects. The symptoms of difficult or irregular periods are therefore greatly reduced in the majority of cases.

In addition, many pre-menopausal women testify to its effectiveness on hot flashes thanks to the anti-inflammatory action of fatty acid (GLA) associated with the estrogen-like effect. Finally, during a hormonal imbalance, it is possible to regularize the cycle thanks to a treatment of evening primrose whatever the age and also in the form of capsules .

Mountain Savory Essential Oil

The anti-infectious

Cystitis stings, burns and is really unpleasant!

Common Oregano essential oil also contains it and can replace Mountain Savory if you have it. Indeed, Oregano essential oil fights against viral and bacterial infections and helps to stimulate the body , particularly in the case of cystitis problems.

Beauty and well-being: our Vegetable Oils around the world

Vegetable oils and oily macerates offer the best of nature for your beauty care thanks to their numerous virtues. Natural and 100% ORGANIC, they nourish, protect and moisturize the skin as well as the hair, eyelashes and even nails for some (Castor vegetable oil).

What is the difference between “oily macerate” and “vegetable oil”?

Although both are included in the “vegetable oils” group, here is the difference in a nutshell.

  • Vegetable oil : lipid extract obtained by first cold mechanical pressing of the seeds or fruits of an oilseed plant.
  • Oily macerate : lipid extract obtained by maceration of a part of a plant (flowers, seeds) in a vegetable oil. (examples: Carrot , Arnica , St. John's Wort , etc.)

Perhaps you have already asked yourself the question, which vegetable oil should I use for my skin?
Depending on your age and your skin type, certain vegetable oils will suit you better. For example, vegetable oil Rosehip is recommended for the first wrinkles and younger skin. Argan vegetable oil is a formidable anti-aging agent for the most mature skin. It is recommended when the skin needs a little anti-aging boost.

Rosehip Vegetable Oil

Originally from Chile, ORGANIC Rosehip vegetable oil, rich in Omega 3, is known for its exceptional anti-aging action , particularly on early wrinkles. It promotes skin regeneration and “lifts the skin”.

The “musky” rose is not to be confused with the roses which give essential oil. Here, it is indeed the seed of this rose bush close to the hawthorn which gives the precious vegetable oil active on the signs of time and healing .

Cranberry Vegetable Oil

Originally from Canada, this “bowl of vitamins” that is Cranberry oil is one of the most balanced in the world in Omega 3 and Omega 6. Alone or mixed with Argan oil, it can be applied to the skin. mature but also on dry, sensitive or irritation-prone skin . It is generally recommended when the skin is subject to more oxidative stress due to the environment or living conditions.

It is exceptionally rich:

  • In antioxidants, which help protect the skin from skin aging caused by free radicals.
  • In vitamin A which gives radiance and helps the skin protect itself from the sun.

Little extra:

  • To reduce brown spots on the hands.
  • As an aftershave oil, it soothes the skin and tones it.

    Argan Vegetable Oil

A treasure from Morocco, Argan vegetable oil is a yellow “anti-aging serum” with a very characteristic odor. Regenerating and toning the skin , it is also an essential basis for hair care: radiance, shine and suppleness of the hair.

Conservation of vegetable oil after opening:

    • +/- 6 months: Castor vegetable oil
    • +/- 3 months for “fragile” vegetable oils: Rosehip, Evening Primrose, Borage , Argan, Avocado .

Little extra : keep them in the fridge for better conservation.

Use of Essential Oils during pregnancy and postpartum

Aromatherapy has grown in popularity in recent years, including among pregnant and postpartum women.

Adrianna Czaban 's thesis for obtaining the state diploma in midwifery, defended in 2018 at the Catholic University of Lille, includes a bibliographical study on aromatherapy during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Here are the main results of his review:

    • Precautions for use and contraindications during pregnancy: essential oils are composed of fat-soluble molecules which can cross the placental barrier. Their use requires specific knowledge, especially during pregnancy. The first three months, they are generally contraindicated.
    • Use during pregnancy: Several studies have shown the effectiveness of essential oils for treating various pregnancy ailments, such as nausea, pruritus, stress, anxiety, and hypertension. For example, lemon essential oil is effective against nausea and vomiting, while peppermint essential oil is used to treat itching.
    • Use during childbirth: certain essential oils, such as clary sage, are used during the third trimester of pregnancy for their emmenagogue effects. Inhalation of salvia sclarea has even been shown to increase oxytocin, although with no effect on uterine contractions.
    • Postpartum use: Inhaling lavender essential oils is associated with reduced anxiety, without the side effects associated with benzodiazepines.
